Sleep Can Help You Lose Weight, Here's How, The Surprising Connection Between Sleep And Weight Loss, Healthy Habits

When a person doesn't sleep properly leads to a rise of stress hormones. It turn, this can lead to mental health issues eating disorders,

less physical activity dullness all the time and weight gain. You may have seen that those
who suffer from insomnia have to really

struggle to lose weight than those who have good sleeping habits. Research shows that those who slept for more than 10 hours they gain excess weight than people who slept

between 7 to 8 hours. Here I will answer some questions related to sleep and weight loss.

First Question: How much should a person sleep for a balanced weight?

For normal healthy people, it is best to have 7 to 8 hours

of sleep every night. This reminds me of yogis who do lot of sadhana and meditation of night.

Since they achieve a total relaxation and deep rest in conscious states that is conscious relaxation. Then they don't need a lot of sleep.

Second Question: Why dose poor sleep lead to weight gain?

In one experiment they have found that people who slept less at night had a lower label of leptin hormone which tells us when

to stop eating on the other hand these
people also showed the higher levels of ghrelin hormone which tells us when we are hungry.

Such people craved for sweets bakery products and high-calorie foods. You see how one can lead to another? Such unhealthy food

choices can continue to weight gain. The extra time that one spends being awake may give one more opportunity to eat and one may

disrupts circadian rhythms and this will automatically causes weight gain.

Third Question: It is true that sleeping helps one to lose weight?

Yes. A normal person burns around 50 calories per hour while sleeping. This is so because even when you're sleeping your body is still using energy.

This is called sleeping metabolic rate which refers to the rate at which your body is burning calories while sleeping.

It is believed that a person can burn more calories when one is asleep than one is just lying in bed.

This has to do with a stage of sleep. This is called REM sleep or a rapid eye movement sleep. During REM sleep.

The brain is believed to be more active our subconscious is believed to be more active. In some cases, it is more

active even when one is awake. When one sleeps well one naturally feels more active and less stressful on waking up.

This lead to better lifestyle choices such as regular exercise and healthy food habits. So, you see

there is a relationship between sleep and weight gain. Getting sufficient sleep is ensured by going to sleep at a regular time waking up

at a regular time avoiding meals just before sleep and getting some sunlight and exercise
throughout the day.

However, without diet and exercise simply sleeping more will cause weight gain. Therefore, a systematic approach to sleep can improve the quality of one's life.

It would reduce obesity and other related disorders. So take care. Sleep well.
